Crate Corral Description

Crate Corral is a variation of Corral. The solution may now contain isolated walls referred to as crates. Crates are always 1 grid square by 1 grid square in size and function like walls in that they “block sight.” The 8 spaces surrounding a crate are always inside the loop and do not contain other crates. In particular, a crate can never appear on the edge. Additionally, red-numbered clues may appear in the grid. Besides being required to appear inside the loop like ordinary clues, these numbers tell in how many of the four directions that square’s sight is blocked by a crate.

Below is an example puzzle and its only solution. Crates are marked in orange.
