Great puzzle, thank you! In the end, I had more trouble with the rather “elementary” logic involved in the second part of the puzzle than with the break-in.

Took me a while to figure out how to SPOILER wor mottob eht ot ni stnemges neetenin ezeeuqs ot woh

after that though it was smooth sailing

Is the logic at the very top the same/ very similar to that of the bottom?

    • MellowMelon Says:

Only in a superficial way. It’s the same concept taken in different directions.

      • ksun48 Says:

        Okay, that’s what I thought.

By the way, was it important that the numbers 1-10 all appear in black squares? It’s a bit of a shame you have two 8’s.

      • MellowMelon Says:

That was not intentional in the slightest and I only noticed it when I read your comment. It’s kind of funny I made the 2 and the 6 point the way they did for it to work out, since they could have gone the other way.

In fact I actually aimed for the two 8s to end up the same number as a small touch, since they felt like the most important clues post break-in.

  4. Giovanni P. Says:

Wow, this one is giving me a bit of a headache with those bottom two rows. I can only seem to get one or two short of the goal. Is there supposed to be a different spot to break-in, or am I missing a step somewhere that will make those rows doable?

    • MellowMelon Says:

Getting all 19 horizontal segments in the bottom area is possible and tricky. It is also the major break-in of the puzzle.

Simple counting tells you there are at least three places where you need a horizontal segment in row 9 directly above another one in row 10. Two should be easy to find, but there’s a subtler one near the middle.
