    A quick comment on notation, though it is probably too late to do anything about it. When I first saw the puzzle, I thought there are three colors, though quickly realized the squares can’t be one color.

    It would probably be clearer if instead of squares for the numbers with an undetermined color, you had the number without any shape around it, and for squares with the unknown shape only, (which you don’t have in this puzzle,) you put a question mark.

    I think this puzzle has two solutions: The square in the upper left corner can be both a diamond and a circle. Your solution code indicates that it should be a diamond but I don’t find a contradiction when it is a circle.
