Puzzle 196 (Colorlink)

This is a Thursday Colorlink puzzle.

Puzzle 196

Puzzle 196

Looks like Slitherlink, is actually Colorlink, and solving ought to remind you of Crosslink (unless you make some intuitive guesses).

Incidentally, I think this is the first Colorlink puzzle where each of the colored cells and black cells don’t have their own rotational symmtery.

Been traveling. Fun stuff with this on the road as I didnt have any colored pens and did it all with pencil. Kept me on my toes, but never got too complicated until the end.

    Thanks.

An interesting feel for a Colorlink, I see the reference to Crosslink.. As I kept the Colorlink rules in mind, I kept approaching a vertex and seeing the potential for path complication, then nearby clues kept saying ‘nope, not that complicated!’. A fun one and a surprising end solution, thanks..

The solution to this puzzle leaves me to wonder if it would have worked as well if you had placed the lone red in a different position. Otherwise, this is a nice puzzle with an interesting revelation once you work out which loop is which.
