Puzzle 89 (Crate Corral)

This is a Crate Corral puzzle.

Puzzle 89

The amount of identical clues packed together (a set of four 6s, a set of four 5s) was accidental at first, and I had little luck keeping it going without disrupting the solution path too much. That’s an artistic gimmick I’ll do much better in a later construction, I guess.

In retrospect, the rule variation here is very similar to what Zotmeister did with this puzzle. His variation wasn’t in mind at all when I came up with this, so I guess great minds think alike?

None of the cells outside the loop can see the crates, so it would seem possible to put the red zeros out there. But if you allow that, there are extra solutions. So… note to other solvers: all of the red clues have to be inside the loop, just like the black clues.

I’m getting the hang of these Crate Corrals, and very much enjoyed this one. Nice use of crates on rows or columns with -0- red clues, forcing squares exterior to the loop to intercede.

How many could have created it?
… how many could have solved it?
    How wonderful for both.
