If you approach this one like a Numberlink it falls pretty quickly. The logical solution is a bit more difficult.

This is a Tuesday Slalom puzzle, with a twist. The grid is toroidal, so the edges wrap around to each other.

When I first made this puzzle it had about 5 gates with numbers. Then I tweaked it down to this. Obviously you can make Slalom with no numbers at all, but that wouldn’t be very interesting.

It’s very hard to make these puzzles in a way that’s unassailable by metalogic. I know I’m not alone; the puzzles nikoli put out that I mentioned in the last post had some obvious ways of being utterly destroyed by it. I’ll have to stick with the already-mentioned reminder that you’re only cheating yourself of the puzzle’s entertainment by employing it.

The day I am writing this (which is much earlier than when this post was published) is the day I received an order from nikoli that included an issue of their quarterly magazine. It was in that issue that I realized how great this type of puzzle is. I had seen it on their website, but I passed over it. Anyways, now I feel obliged to try doing these myself.
